   Job Description:
The Group is currently designing and building many major electrical infrastructure projects across NZ and Australia. This includes 220/110kV transmission substations, 66/33/11kV distribution substations, grid scale wind, solar and BESS farms, industrial and commercial electrical installations and Fast DC EV charging stations.
They are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer interested in designing all or some types of electrical infrastructure from large substations to Industrial electrical systems to EV charging stations.
The ideal candidate will be part of our team designing, developing and optimizing site layouts and electrical systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and safety.
  
This position can be based in our Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch office.
Role description:

  • Design electrical distribution systems, including interfaces with Electrical Distribution Boards (EDBs) and existing electrical infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, to integrate electrical systems into the overall design.
  • Stay up to date with electrical system technology and industry regulations to ensure our design solutions remain competitive and compliant.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications and reports.
What we are looking for:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or similar. 
  • Experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the EV deployment, building services, industrial electrical or transmission and distribution engineering.
  • Familiarity with electrical industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working in teams and taking ownership of project deliverables.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take opportunities and drive learning and development.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in 33kV, 11kV and 400V electrical distribution system design.
  • Familiarity with the application process and design for new 33kV, 11kV and 400V electrical connections to EDBs.
