The role
Based in Queenstown your role will form part of a highly regarded team of Structural Engineers and Technical Specialists. The project portfolio includes interesting and technically challenging work and the team have a history of working on a wide variety of local landmark projects across Canterbury and the wider New Zealand regions. This opportunity will allow you to work broadly, taking ownership of the full project life cycle. You will be engaged across the structural engineering aspects associated with the design and build of new commercial buildings, public buildings, hospitals, schools etc and across a variety of industry sectors. You will be working with a range of internal and external stakeholders and clients. You will be working with great autonomy but with the tools and support of highly experienced engineers to ensure your continued development in your engineering career pathway.
About you
You will be an intermediate level Structural Engineer with an interest in continuing to develop your engineering and project delivery expertise. You will be someone who embraces the development opportunities that come from working across a broad spectrum of industry sectors and Structural Engineering stages of the project lifecycle. You will have an interest in design for sustainability, green space design and emerging construction materials. We are dedicated to delivering designs which are functional and sympathetic to each unique landscape.
You will require.
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3+ years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in a consulting environment.
- An interest in design for sustainability, green space design and emerging construction materials
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, ideally exposure to SPACE GASS, ETABS, SAFE or similar platforms
- Sound knowledge of relevant New Zealand codes and standards
- Experience with seismic design and analysis is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a broad range of team members and clients.
