- Kohia 33/11 kV Substation: Delivered comprehensive design, collaborating with structural design partners to enhance substation performance and reliability.
- Motupipi 66 kV Bus Reconfiguration: Redesigned and upgraded the system, including adding a Statcom to improve network reliability for Network Tasman.
- Hydrogen Fuel Stations: Provided electrical design for multiple green transport stations, supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy.
- Renewable Energy Substations: Delivered design and engineering support for substation connections to solar and wind farms across New Zealand.

As Technical Director – Primary Systems Design, you’ll lead diverse high-voltage projects and help shape the direction of their growing design team. This role offers unique exposure, giving you opportunities to influence not just projects but how they work as a team and organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of substation layouts, equipment specifications, and configurations for high voltage projects.
- Oversee critical designs for switching stations, transformer bays, and network upgrades.
- Mentor engineers, fostering technical excellence and supporting career development.
- Influence design strategy, driving process improvements and technical innovation.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver tailored, high-quality solutions.
You’re an industry leader passionate about delivering exceptional results and influencing team growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 15+ years in primary systems design for high voltage substations and transmission networks.
- Expertise in substation layouts, equipment specification, and integration of new technologies.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and shape team strategy and processes.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPENG) or equivalent certification.
